Prossack Designs - jewelry for your body, your life, and your home

about the artist(s)

I am an eclectic artisan – over the years I have experimented with many art/craft forms, and I continue to experiment. I was a professional calligrapher for many years, and in conjunction with that, I learned the art of hand marbling - a beautiful, ancient Turkish art of creating patterns on paper. Now, the majority of marbled paper is done in more muted palettes  - which doesn't exactly suit me! So the papers I created tend to be exuberantly colored, though I have been known to use more serene palettes too. For many years I created jewelry, journals and notebooks, stationary, and different decorative objects out of my original marbled papers. Unfortunately, also over the years, I have developed chemical sensitivities, so I have not been able to produce any new papers. But one day, I realized that I can use my computer to help me create new papers from my original sheets.

That gave birth to my new jewelry, and a slew of other ideas.

I have also branched out into digital art and photography (I grew up drawing, and taking photographs), and my lovely daughter has joined me with her wonderful photographs as well. My father was an avid photographer, I have always loved photography, and my daughter takes awesome photographs - so I'm thinking it runs in the family!

My daughter takes wonderful architectural photos, and on her travels has taken hundreds of photographs. She has also taken hundreds of photos locally. Once she started doing it, she fell completely in love with it. Her other favorite subject is her beautiful cat, who is a 'poser'. She's gorgeous, and you can bet she knows it!

Please - browse around and enjoy! If you see something you like, but want done a bit differently, or you have a new idea you would like to see - I do custom work as well.
